Enteroviruses
Analysis of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from children with neurologic symptoms (including febrile seizures and status epilepticus) associated with acute febrile illness revealed enteroviruses (echovirus and coxsackievirus) in a substantial number of patients.106 Whether seizure expression can be directly related to CNS enteroviral infection in adults requires further investigation.
