Carbamazepine
Tegretol, CarbatrolRenal impairmentThe absorption and clearance of carbamazepine do not appear to be influenced by renal impairment.42 Carbamazepine has a significant antidiuretic effect, however, and may promote fluid retention. HemodialysisCarbamazepine is poorly soluble in water and is 80% protein bound. As expected, hemodialysis has little effect on carbamazepine plasma concentration.43 Adapted from: Browne TR.
