Northwest Run/Walk for Epilepsy - Portland

Pain & Central Nervous System Week via NewsEdge : 2008 JUN 30 - (NewsRx.com) -- The Epilepsy Foundation Northwest announces the Northwest Run/Walk for Epilepsy to be held this Sunday, June 22 in Portland at Waterfront Park on the west side of the Morrison Bridge. The event will take place from 9:30 am-12:30 pm (see also Epilepsy). "Everyone is invited to participate in this event to support people living with epilepsy," said Alta Hancock, Associate Director. "We are thrilled people from throughout the greater Portland area are joining in the effort to bring awareness and funds to this cause." Proceeds from the Walk support uncompensated programs and services including Camp Discovery for children with epilepsy and their siblings, year-round educational and support groups, emergency medication assistance, employment counseling, and seizure response training programs for school personnel, first responders and employers. The Portland Northwest Run/Walk for Epilepsy is an official event of the Portland Rose Festival. The Northwest Run/Walk for Epilepsy will also be held on Saturday, June 21 in Spokane at Riverfront Park and on the same day in Seattle at Green Lake Park.
