Mysoline®
Clinical pharmacology of MysolineMysoline is metabolized in the liver to phenobarbital and another active compound, phenylethylmalonamide. It is metabolized by the hepatic P450 system. Mysoline is ~70-80% protein-bound. Mysoline is rapidly and nearly completely absorbed following oral administration. Peak serum concentrations are reached in approximately 3 hours. When taken as monotherapy, the half-life of Mysoline is approximately 12 hours. When taken in combination with hepatic enzyme-inducing antiepileptic drugs, the half-life of Mysoline is reduced by nearly 50%. |
