Other uses of Depakene
The only FDA-approved use of Depakene is the treatment of epilepsy, but it also has two off-label uses:
- treatment of manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder
- prophylaxis of migraine headaches (not acute treatment)
Possible harm to the fetus should be considered before Depakene is prescribed for women of childbearing potential. (See Pregnancy.)
